Anniek Verholt

Artistic Therapy

qualified as an Anthroposophic Therapist in the Netherlands in 2000. Since then she has been working in the UK and abroad for the past nine years with adults and children with a wide range of health issues. She has conducted research into colour experience and the therapeutic use of the arts in palliative health care and continues to further develop her knowledge in this field.

Anniek has a private practice in Hampstead, London where she works with children and adults on a 1-2-1 basis and in small groups. Her clients come with issues such as depression, emotional instability, psycho-somatic problems, the emotional impact of cancer or another long term illness. Anniek also works with clients who experience phobia’s, trauma, broken families, abuse, bereavement, self-esteem issues, eating disorders, lack of creativity and chronic fatigue syndrome and other problems.

The therapy is suitable for anyone who is interested in using the arts as a medium to discover certain patterns, to express oneself in images and metaphors when words aren’t enough, to stimulate one’s senses and creativity and to support a recovery process.

There is no need for previous artistic experience as the patient will be guided in any technique used during the sessions.

Twice a year Anniek organises retreats to a Greek island where an Artistic therapy programme is combined with a programme of excursions and free time with the aim to enjoy the beauty of the island and reflect on personal health and well-being.

· A researcher and doctoral supervisor in mental health and complementary and alternative medicine at the University of Leeds,

· UK representative of the worldwide anthroposophic psychotherapy movement.

His clinical interests are generic with a specialist interest in working with trauma, engaging the healing potential of clients, addressing the psycho-social and inter-generational causes of psychological distress, developing client autonomy rather than fostering dependency, and working as part of an integrated complementary and alternative medicine team. He works according to the Ethical Framework of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, will see clients weekly (or more frequently in exceptional circumstances), but prefers less frequent sessions in order to place the onus on the client’s own healing potential.

He has edited or co-edited four books, a Routledge counselling journal and has written several peer reviewed and non-peer reviewed articles in the fields of anthroposophy, transformational research methods and counselling and psychotherapy.

Ursula Gateley

Colonic hydrotherapy, nutrition, cupping, lymph drainage

Ursula is a Holistic Health Practitioner and has been practising at The Hale Clinic for nearly 20 years. She has a pharmaceutical background and is originally from Switzerland. Her approach is Naturopathic and Holistic and she incorporates the emotional and spiritual side with Energy Healing to help the release process during Colon Hydrotherapy.

Ursula utilises or is guided by the following principles during Colon Hydrotherapy:

Nutrition - During a Colon Hydrotherapy, Ursula identifies and treats the underlying causes which prevent good health from being achieved.

Herbal Implants will be used during The Colon Hydrotherapy in specific cases.

Lymphatic Drainage - Ursula will use this method in some areas of the body which are congested in order to facilitate effective drainage from the lymph system and help the detoxification process.

Acupressure - Ursula uses some Acupressure points along the Colon Meridian.

Applied Kinesiology - Ursula would use this method occasionally to detect underlying causes of symptoms.

Cupping - Ursula uses a very specialised cupping method including a facial (esp. TMJ/Jaw area). It can feel very relaxing and soothing yet it is a reflex-zone of The Colon. If a patient is suffering from a Cold or Flu-like symptoms, Ursula would first do 10 Min Cupping on the Back followed by a Colonic which is very beneficial.

Healing - To help release of Fear Anger Worries Sadness Stress Bereavement etc. so patients can participate in life with a positive attitude. This can be very liberating on a physical, emotional and spiritual level, as well as supporting a patient's innate self healing process.

Ursula has recently attended Seminars at The Kneipp School in Germany and in The Modern VIVA Mayr Clinic in Austria, as well as being very familiar with the Kneipp and Mayr Therapies.

Ursula is a member of the ARCH.

Professor Maximilian Moser

Maximilian Moser was trained as a scientist for human physiology and chronobiology in the former University of GrazAustria as well as in the Universities of Marburg, Germany and UVA Virginia, USA. When Austria was invited 1989 by the just-opening Russia to participate in a joint space-project, the young scientist was selected as one of the chief scientists for medical research in this program. During the subsequent years, first the Austrian and than all the Russian cosmonauts went through the health tests designed by Moser and his team, until the end of the space station MIR.

The methods and practical results from this program where included first in clinical research and later in health prevention programs together with leading health insurance companies and cure clinics. In one of the projects aimed to reduce accidents in construction workers the interventions based on Mosers  suggestion not only improved sleep quality and health of the workers, but also accident numbers: 1 year after the scientifically accompanied reference project, accident were brought down to zero from the 3-5% per quarter observed in the time before this project. As a consequence, the program was installed as a standard in Austriaand repeated in 86 further companies yielding an average reduction of accidents by 27%, one year after the end of the interventions. At the moment, Moser is working as a professor for human physiology in the Medical University of Graz leading his own institute with 9 coworkers in the Joanneum Research, a country owned public research facility.
